I believe that a good leader should possess integrity, passion, and accountability. Integrity is important to any leader because one must gain the trust and respect of the group that they are leading in order to be successful. It is crucial to be honest and upright as a leader and hold yourself to a high standard, as you are representing more than yourself. In addition, a good leader must accept criticism and be able to grow from their mistakes. To be able to lead well, you must also be passionate about the cause you are representing, being willing to do what it takes to help others succeed. I believe that it takes passion to be a good leader because if you truly care about what you are doing and who you are leading, you will be successful. I believe that a good leader must be accountable. Leaders have great responsibility, so being able to complete all tasks required of them on time and to good standards is important. A good leader should be able to commit to a task and hold themselves and the people that they are leading accountable. Ultimately, to be successful as a leader, one must be passionate about what they are leading, willing to grow, and hold themselves and others accountable in order to succeed.

Why do you want to be a HOSA State Officer?

I have dreamed of making a difference in people's lives for as long as I can remember. In the future, I hope to be able to serve in the medical field in ways that make a lasting impact. I love HOSA because it gives me the opportunity to grow my skills, prepare myself for the future, and connect with other students interested in the medical field. I have gotten the opportunity to lead my chapter for the past two years and hope to lead on the state level this upcoming year. I want to be a HOSA State Officer because I want to grow my leadership skills while learning more about the medical field and creating new relationships. In the future, I plan to be a leader in my career, and being a State Officer this year would help me learn essential leadership skills to get there. I want to be able to connect with other students who have similar goals as I do and help them succeed. I want to be a part of something that will ultimately make an impact on the future of medicine. HOSA gives us incredible opportunities to challenge ourselves, and ultimately grow because of that challenge. I want to be able to serve my community more in the future and to be involved in HOSA projects. Being on the State Officer team would allow me to be a part of this and make a difference. I am passionate about serving others and helping my peers reach success, whatever that may mean for each person. I hope to be a 2024-2025 State Officer because of my passion for HOSA and my excitement for the future of medicine.
