A good leader should be confident in their abilities and ready to take on big roles, but not be self seeking when carrying out tasks. They should think of what would benefit the majority, but also take into account what is right when it comes to helping the minority. I feel strongly about this because I have experienced what it is like to have a self seeking leader, and what it can do to a groups work ethic, production, and moral. I want to be an inspiring leader that can encourage my team to pursue a better version of themselves everyday, and most importantly I want to be remembered as a kind, compassionate, and encouraging leader, because that is where I have managed to find true growth, is being poured into by leaders such as these.

Why do you want to be a HOSA State Officer?

I want to be a HOSA State officer because of my compassion for serving others. I feel that HOSA is a great opportunity to lead and teach others how collaboration is essential for improving the quality of healthcare. HOSA builds the future generation of healthcare professionals so instilling the value of serving others, teamwork, and compassion into members now is so vital to create a generation of kind healthcare professionals. Having family with chronic illnesses I have got to experience what lack of compassion from a doctor can look like for a patient and I feel it is so important for this generation to learn to work together, be kind, and be willing to learn for the sake of their future patients.
