Interested in Starting a HOSA Chapter
We are thrilled that you are interested in starting a HOSA Chapter at your School! By taking this step, you are creating opportunities for future health professionals in your community. Before you chapter can begin attending conferences, competing in events, and hosting HOSA activities, there are some steps to officially establish and affiliate your chapter. It is a simple process and we are here to support and guide you every step of the way!
Establishment of a Chapter

Identify a sponsoring school, secure a qualified advisor, and obtain approval from your school administration.

Once approved, recruit at least five members to officially establish and recognize your HOSA chapter.

After your chapter has been formed, hold regular meetings, maintain membership records, and participate in HOSA leadership conferences and activities to keep your chapter active.
Official Affiliation

Once your chapter has been established, the next step is becoming affiliated with Arkansas HOSA. Chapters can complete the affiliation process through the Arkansas HOSA portal. Contact Mrs. Gunter, the AR State Advisor - Cathy.Gunter@ade.arkansas.gov

It is important to ensure that each member submits the required $15 affiliation fee. After all requirements, the Arkansas HOSA State Advisor will review the submission and provide confirmation that your chapter has been officially chartered. By taking this step your chapter members will have access to participate in conferences, competitive events, scholarships, and more!

One of HOSA’s defining characteristics is that it is a student-led organization. While advisors play a big role in providing guidance and support, students are responsible for leading their chapters and shaping each another's experiences.
