A new study found that adipocytes (fat cells) can be infected by the coronavirus and become inflamed. This is not a new phenomenon. Viruses like HIV and Influenza have already been found to infect and "hide from the immune system" in adipocytes. What are some ways that we can improve individual's nutritional and lifestyle choices to prevent disease? What implications does this research have on low income individuals and those living in food deserts?
