2023 International Leadership Conference Recap

Arkansas HOSA members were very successful at the International Leadership Conference (ILC). Many members advanced to the second rounds of their competitions, showcasing their healthcare skills and knowledge. 

14 Arkansas HOSA members earned finalist recognition!  

Earning Top 10 Finalist Recognition is a tremendous accomplishment, as some competitions have more than 150 competitors.

Two students won Silver Medals!

  • Marlies Dolan, Haas Hall Academy Rogers, Life Threatening Situations – Middle School, Silver Medal

  • Abhinandana Saravanan, Bentonville West, Research Poster, Silver Medal


Awards and Recognition:

Rachael Thumma, from Bentonville High School, was recognized for her leadership as the Central Region Vice President on the HOSA Executive Council.


Muskan Taori, from Bentonville High School, was recognized as the HOSA Outstanding State Leader.

Students recognized for outstanding community service with Barbara James Service Awards:

  • Gold:

    • Eekshita Allipilli, Haas Hall Bentonville

  • Silver: 

    • Emily Ye, Haas Hall Bentonville

    • Hemali Gauri, Haas Hall Fayetteville

  • Bronze:

    • Hayden Holt, Fayetteville High School

    • Ella Pope, Fayetteville High School


Quitman HOSA was recognized as a Bronze Level Chapter for the America's Blood Centers Blood Drive Event.

Arkansas HOSA was one of 5 Chartered Associations who received a Special Recognition Membership Award, which recognizes the top 5 charter associations for membership growth.


This year, of the 54 HOSA Chartered Associations, Arkansas had the 5th largest membership growth with a 45% membership increase!


The Central Region won the HOSA Cup, an annual award which recognizes the region with the largest membership growth. Arkansas is one of 19 Chartered Associations in the HOSA Central Region.  


Student members have become involved in HOSA – prepared to build leadership skills, acquire health care related competencies through competitive events, and gain networking opportunities with students in the state, across the nation, and beyond who share similar interests and goals.
